يا سادَةً بِمديحهم حزتُ العُلا

يا سادَةً بِمديحهم حزتُ العُلا

وَبَلَغتُ مِن نيل السَعادَةِ مَأملا

وَبَلَغتُ مِن نيل السَعادَةِ مَأملا

O masters, by praising whom I have attained the heights,

O masters, by praising them I gained elevation

And reached my hoped-for goal in attaining happiness.

And attained the hopes of fortune's favor

لي مِنكُم أَنّى أَرَدت تَوسّلا

لي مِنكُم أَنّى أَرَدت تَوسّلا

جثث بِطيبة وَالغريّ وَكَربلا

جثث بِطيبة وَالغريّ وَكَربلا

Wherever I wish for intercession, I have among you

From you all I seek intercession whenever I desire

Bodies in Tayba, al-Ghari, and Karbala,

The martyrs of Karbala, Tus, and Samarra

وَالطوس وَالزورا وَسامرّاءِ

وَالطوس وَالزورا وَسامرّاءِ

هُم عدَّتي حَيث الأَحبّة أَعرَضَت

هُم عدَّتي حَيث الأَحبّة أَعرَضَت

And Tus, al-Zawra, and Samarra.

Are my assets whenever friends have abandoned me

They are my mainstay when loved ones have turned away

And the hands of time have been against me

عَنّي وَلي أَيدي الزَمان تَعَرَّضت

عَنّي وَلي أَيدي الزَمان تَعَرَّضت

حَيّا الحَيا مِنهُم عُهوداً قَد مَضَت

حَيّا الحَيا مِنهُم عُهوداً قَد مَضَت

From me, and the hands of time have assailed me.

They were the living whose pacts have passed

May the rain bless their bygone days.

Never did I seek their aid without it being granted

ما جِئتهُم في حاجَةٍ إِلّا اِنقَضَت

ما جِئتهُم في حاجَةٍ إِلّا اِنقَضَت

وَتَبَدَّل الضَرّاءُ بِالسَرّاءِ

وَتَبَدَّل الضَرّاءُ بِالسَرّاءِ

I never came to them with a need without its being fulfilled,

And adversity was replaced by prosperity

And adversity was replaced by prosperity.
