مَولايmy lord عَبدكyour servant قَدindeed أَضرّdid harm بِهِto him أَسىsorrow
مَولاي عَبدك قَد أَضرّ بِهِ أَسى
بعدٍseparation فَكُنso be مِنهُfrom it فَديتكmay I be your ransom منقذيmy rescuer
بعدٍ فَكُن مِنهُ فَديتك منقذي
My lord, your servant has been afflicted by the sorrow
My Master, your servant is hurt by grief
of separation; so be my rescuer from it—may I be your ransom.
After being apart, so save me, I implore
ياO عائدvisitor to المُشتاقthe yearning one فيin صلةa bond الوَفاfaithfulness
يا عائد المُشتاق في صلة الوَفا
لَمdid not أَقضِI fulfill حَقّthe due of هَواكyour love إِنif كُنتyou are الَّذيthe one who
لَم أَقضِ حَقّ هَواك إِن كُنت الَّذي
O visitor to the yearning one, in a bond of faithfulness,
O you who return the longing one to intimacy
I have not fulfilled the due of your love, if you are the one who...
I have not fulfilled your love's right, if I am the one
