فدىً لَكَ ذا العَبد مَع ما مَلك

فدىً لَكَ ذا العَبد مَع ما مَلك

فَقَد بَلَغ الفَوز إِذ أَمّلَك

فَقَد بَلَغ الفَوز إِذ أَمّلَك

May this servant, with all he owns, be a ransom for you;

For you, this servant and all he owns are ransomed

for he attained success when he placed his hope in you.

He has attained triumph, now that you own him

أَعدتَ حَياتيَ بَعدَ الفَنا

أَعدتَ حَياتيَ بَعدَ الفَنا

فَأَيقَن بِالبَعث مَن قَد هَلَك

فَأَيقَن بِالبَعث مَن قَد هَلَك

You restored my life after death,

You revived my life after death

so one who had perished became certain of resurrection.

So whoever perishes believes in resurrection

فَما كانَ مِنكَ سَخاءً فَلي

فَما كانَ مِنكَ سَخاءً فَلي

وَما كانَ مِنّي ثَناءً فَلَك

وَما كانَ مِنّي ثَناءً فَلَك

Whatever comes from you as generosity is mine;

Whatever generosity was from you, is for me

and whatever comes from me as praise is yours.

And whatever praise was from me, is for you

تَمَلّكت رقّي وَرقّ العِيال

تَمَلّكت رقّي وَرقّ العِيال

فَنَحنُ عَبيدك وَالأَمر لَك

فَنَحنُ عَبيدك وَالأَمر لَك

You own my servitude and that of my household;

You have taken care of me and my dependents

so we are your bondsmen, and yours is the command.

For we are your servants, and the command is yours

وَعَمَّت هِباتك هَذي الدِيار

وَعَمَّت هِباتك هَذي الدِيار

فَيا أَنفَع الغَيث ما أَهطلك

فَيا أَنفَع الغَيث ما أَهطلك

And your gifts have spread throughout these lands;

Your blessings have spread across these lands

so, O most beneficial rain, how copiously you pour!

O, most beneficial rain, how heavily you pour!

أَنخنا لَدَيك مَطايا الرَجا

أَنخنا لَدَيك مَطايا الرَجا

وَآمالنا وَرَدت مَنهلك

وَآمالنا وَرَدت مَنهلك

We made the mounts of hope kneel before you,

We raced to you with hopes of favor

and our hopes reached your watering place.

And our hopes found their way to your spring

وَأسرع مِنّا نَداك الَّذي

وَأسرع مِنّا نَداك الَّذي

بَلَغناه مِن قَبل أَن نَسأَلَك

بَلَغناه مِن قَبل أَن نَسأَلَك

And swifter than us was your bounty, which

Your call reached us faster

we reached before we asked you.

Than we could ask you first

فَيا مَعدَن الفَضل سُبحان مَن

فَيا مَعدَن الفَضل سُبحان مَن

عَلى مَن سواك لَقَد فَضَّلك

عَلى مَن سواك لَقَد فَضَّلك

So, O mine of excellence, glory be to Him who

O fountain of generosity, glory to the One

has indeed favored you above all others.

Who favored you over all others

تَبارَك مَن بِكَ زان العُلى

تَبارَك مَن بِكَ زان العُلى

كَما زانَ بِالنيرين الفَلك

كَما زانَ بِالنيرين الفَلك

Blessed is He who adorned the heights of glory with you,

Blessed is He who adorned the heights with you

as He adorned the celestial sphere with the two luminaries.

As the sky is adorned with bright stars

تَباهى بِكَ الملك كُلّ البَها

تَباهى بِكَ الملك كُلّ البَها

فَما أَنتَ في المُلك إِلّا مَلَك

فَما أَنتَ في المُلك إِلّا مَلَك

Kingship gloried in you with all its splendor;

The king boasts of you against all his pride

for in the kingdom you are nothing but an angel.

For in his kingdom, you are but an angel

سَلَكت سَبيل الهُدى تابِعاً

سَلَكت سَبيل الهُدى تابِعاً

هُدى سَيّد الخَلق فيما سَلَك

هُدى سَيّد الخَلق فيما سَلَك

You followed the path of guidance, following

You followed the path of guidance, adhering

the guidance of the master of creation in the path he took.

To the guide of mankind in all he undertook

فَزنتَ البِلاد وصُنتَ العِباد

فَزنتَ البِلاد وصُنتَ العِباد

وَبِالعَدل رَبُّ السَما عَدَّلك

وَبِالعَدل رَبُّ السَما عَدَّلك

So you adorned the lands and safeguarded the people,

You brought justice to the lands and protected the people

and through justice the Lord of heaven made you upright.

So the Lord of the Heavens made you just

وَقَلّدك الأَمر سُلطاننا

وَقَلّدك الأَمر سُلطاننا

فنوَّلَه مِثلَما نَوَّلك

فنوَّلَه مِثلَما نَوَّلك

And our sultan entrusted you with command;

And our Sultan granted you command

so may He favor him as he favored you.

Appointing you as he himself was appointed

فَقُمت بِأَعباء ملك سَما

فَقُمت بِأَعباء ملك سَما

فَما اِرتابَ مِنكَ وَلا اِستهملك

فَما اِرتابَ مِنكَ وَلا اِستهملك

So you shouldered the burdens of an exalted realm;

You took on the burdens of the kingdom

and he neither doubted you nor neglected you.

Never doubting or feeling overwhelmed

بحَقٍّ أَعزّكَ عَبد العَزيز

بحَقٍّ أَعزّكَ عَبد العَزيز

فَأَنتَ جَدير بِما اِستأهلك

فَأَنتَ جَدير بِما اِستأهلك

Abd al-Aziz rightly bestowed honor on you;

Abdulaziz, with truth has honored you

for you are worthy of what he deemed you fit for.

For you are worthy of what you have attained

فَيا لَكَ سَيفاً صَقيلاً غَدَت

فَيا لَكَ سَيفاً صَقيلاً غَدَت

عِناية رَبِّ السَما صيقلك

عِناية رَبِّ السَما صيقلك

So, what a burnished sword you are! Now

O you whose sharpened sword was honed

the Lord of heaven's care has become your polisher.

By the care of the Lord of the Heavens

عَقلت الأُمور بِأَسبابها

عَقلت الأُمور بِأَسبابها

فَللّه درّك ما أَعقلك

فَللّه درّك ما أَعقلك

You understood affairs through their causes;

You handled matters wisely

so, God be praised for your excellence—how wise you are!

By God, how rational you are!

حباك المَكارم رَبُّ السَماء

حباك المَكارم رَبُّ السَماء

وَأَعطاك مِن جودهِ مَأملك

وَأَعطاك مِن جودهِ مَأملك

The Lord of heaven endowed you with noble virtues,

The Lord of the Heavens endowed you with virtues

and from His bounty gave you what you hoped for.

And gave you from His generosity all you possess

فَأَوجَبت شُكراً لِنَعمائه

فَأَوجَبت شُكراً لِنَعمائه

عَلى الناس طرّاً بِما خَوَّلك

عَلى الناس طرّاً بِما خَوَّلك

Thus you made thanks for His blessings a duty

So you deserved thanks for His blessings

for all people, through what He bestowed on you.

By sharing with people from what He authorized you

فيا أَسعَد الناس في نعمة

فيا أَسعَد الناس في نعمة

مِن اللَه نَرغَب أَن تَشمَلَك

مِن اللَه نَرغَب أَن تَشمَلَك

So, O most fortunate of people, in a blessing

O happiest of people in the bounty

from God that we hope will encompass you!

From God, we pray it includes you

وَيا زينة الدَهر دُم سالِماً

وَيا زينة الدَهر دُم سالِماً

مَدى الدَهر وَالدَهر كَالعَبد لَك

مَدى الدَهر وَالدَهر كَالعَبد لَك

And, O adornment of time, remain safe

O jewel of time, live forever

for all time, with time itself like a servant to you.

As time itself is your obedient slave

وَيا بَدر لا غبت عَن مُهجة

وَيا بَدر لا غبت عَن مُهجة

بِحُكم الوَفاءِ غَدَت مَنزلك

بِحُكم الوَفاءِ غَدَت مَنزلك

And, O full moon, may you never vanish from a heart

O moon, never absent from the sky

that, by the law of loyalty, has become your dwelling.

Loyally it became your dwelling

وَلا زِلت كَالشَمس في عزّها

وَلا زِلت كَالشَمس في عزّها

وَكُلّ البُروج لَها في فَلَك

وَكُلّ البُروج لَها في فَلَك

And may you ever remain like the sun in its glory,

Still like the sun in its glory

and all the zodiac's signs belong to it in the celestial sphere.

With all constellations orbiting you

شَملت الأَنام بِفعل الجَميل

شَملت الأَنام بِفعل الجَميل

وَبِالفَضل مَولاك قَد جَمّلك

وَبِالفَضل مَولاك قَد جَمّلك

You encompassed mankind with good deeds,

You included people with good deeds

and your Lord has adorned you with excellence,

And your Master adorned you with grace

إِلى أَن تَناهَت صِفات الكَمال

إِلى أَن تَناهَت صِفات الكَمال

إِلَيكَ فَسُبحان مَن كَمَّلَك

إِلَيكَ فَسُبحان مَن كَمَّلَك

until the qualities of perfection culminated

Until all qualities of perfection

in you—so glory be to Him who perfected you!

Reached you, glory to the One who perfected you!
