May the downpour of divine favor water a grave that held piety,
The stream of bounty waters a grave containing piety
As eyes have already watered it with tears.
As the eyes had watered it with tears

Within it lies Hasan, a sea of noble virtues and eminence,
In it is the beauty of the sea of generosity and nobility
And he who was called al-Attar, whose memory is fragrant.
And the one called the perfumer and the fragrant mention

A youth who was among those who possessed goodness of heart,
A young man who had attained the excellence of innermost thought
Which pleases God on the day when inner secrets are tested.
With which Allah is pleased on the day when secrets are tested

So when God summoned him with a merciful summons,
So when Allah called him with a merciful call
To an abode where ear and eye find delight,
To an abode in which the hearing and seeing delight

He came to the court of the Most Merciful, hoping for pardon.
He came to the field of the Merciful hopeful of pardon
So glad tidings to him: his Lord is forgiving—thus I marked the date.
Good tidings to him, his Lord spread pardoning
