يَكون لِمَن يَموت جَوى وَريثا
I see that not everyone called “Habib” (beloved)
I see not everyone who claims "love"
becomes heir to one who dies of love’s anguish.
Becomes an heir when death takes its toll

For “Habib,” among certain names,
For sometimes those we call "beloved"
you find, if you alter its dots, to be “khabith” (wicked).
Reveal themselves as scoundrels, we're told
