He says to me, “Why have tears streamed from your eye,
You ask me, "Why do tears fall from your eyes?"
when I have granted you union with me?” I replied apologetically:
Though my devotion brought us together, I pleaded my case.

“My eye rejoiced at seeing you; so, out of joy,
My eyes rejoice at the sight of you,
it began scattering pearls where your sandal treads.”
So they shed pearls at the tread of your sandals.
