أَتىhe came فيduring بَشرفٍa bashraf (instrumental prelude) فَرَأَيتand I saw شَخصاًa figure
أَتى في بَشرفٍ فَرَأَيت شَخصاً
تَكادُnearly بِهِbecause of him الرَواسيthe steadfast mountains أَنto تَميلاsway
تَكادُ بِهِ الرَواسي أَن تَميلا
He came during a bashraf, and I saw a figure;
He came with good news, so I saw a man
The steadfast mountains nearly swayed because of him.
Who could make mountains tilt with him
فَلَمand did not أَرَI see مِثلَهُhis like رَجُلاًa man خَفيفاًlight
فَلَم أَرَ مِثلَهُ رَجُلاً خَفيفاً
شَداhe sang فَسَمعتand I heard إِسحاقIshaq الثَقيلاthe Heavy
شَدا فَسَمعت إِسحاق الثَقيلا
And I had never seen a man as light as he;
I never saw a man so graceful
He sang, and I heard Ishaq the Heavy.
Isḥāq cried loudly when he pulled
