زالَ العَنا بِتَباشير المنى وَمَضى

زالَ العَنا بِتَباشير المنى وَمَضى

وَبارق السَعد في أُفق الهَنا وَمَضا

وَبارق السَعد في أُفق الهَنا وَمَضا

Hardship vanished with the glad tidings of hopes, and passed away.

The hardships have departed with the signs of wishes, and passed away,

And the lightning of good fortune flashed on the horizon of happiness.

And the light of joy appeared in the horizon of delight and vanished.

وَفي سَما اليمنِ مِصباح السُرور بَدا

وَفي سَما اليمنِ مِصباح السُرور بَدا

حَتّى اِستَنار سنا إشراقه وأضا

حَتّى اِستَنار سنا إشراقه وأضا

And in the sky of good fortune, the lamp of joy appeared,

In the sky of Yemen a lamp of joy emerged,

Until the radiance of its shining grew bright and shone.

Until its radiance illuminated our years and gave light.

يا حُسن مَطلع مِصباح لِبهجَتِهِ

يا حُسن مَطلع مِصباح لِبهجَتِهِ

مِنهُ اِستَعار سَناه البَدر وَاِقتَرَضا

مِنهُ اِستَعار سَناه البَدر وَاِقتَرَضا

How lovely the rising of a lamp, so splendid that

O beauty of the rising lamp in its happiness!

The full moon borrowed its radiance from it and took it on loan.

مَولود عزٍّ وَإقبال يَكون لَهُ ال

مَولود عزٍّ وَإقبال يَكون لَهُ ال

عُمر المَديد مِن الباري بِكُلّ رضى

عُمر المَديد مِن الباري بِكُلّ رضى

A newborn of honor and prosperity, who shall have a

A birth of honor and prosperity, for whom will be

Long life from the Creator, in full contentment.

A long life of contentment from the Creator, with all pleasure.

قَضى لَنا اللَّه بِالأَفراح فاِنبعثت

قَضى لَنا اللَّه بِالأَفراح فاِنبعثت

لَنا الأَماني بِما فيهِ الإله قضى

لَنا الأَماني بِما فيهِ الإله قضى

God decreed joys for us, and so arose

God has decreed for us this joy, so hopes were aroused in us,

Our hopes, through what God decreed concerning him.

With what God ordained, containing this deity.

فيا أَباه بِهِ البُشرى أَتَتك فطب

فيا أَباه بِهِ البُشرى أَتَتك فطب

نَفساً وَقرَّ بِهِ عَيناً وَنل غَرَضا

نَفساً وَقرَّ بِهِ عَيناً وَنل غَرَضا

So, O father of the child, glad tidings have come to you through him; be glad

So O father, it brought you good news, so refresh

At heart, let your eye find joy in him, and attain your desire.

A soul, and delight an eye, and attain a purpose.

فَسَوف يَنمو بِعَون اللَه جَوهره

فَسَوف يَنمو بِعَون اللَه جَوهره

حَظّاً وَيحرس حَتّى لا يرى عَرضا

حَظّاً وَيحرس حَتّى لا يرى عَرضا

So, with God's help, his precious essence shall grow

He will grow, God willing, in his essence,

In good fortune, and be guarded so that he encounters no affliction.

In fortune, and be guarded from seeing disgrace.

وَيا بَشير التَهاني إِن حَجَجتَ إِلى ال

وَيا بَشير التَهاني إِن حَجَجتَ إِلى ال

بيت المحرّم إيفاءاً لِما فَرَضا

بيت المحرّم إيفاءاً لِما فَرَضا

And O herald of congratulations, if you make pilgrimage to the

O you who bring congratulations, when you go on Hajj to

Sacred House, fulfilling what He prescribed,

The Sacred House, fulfilling what is ordained.

فَاِنهَض بِكُلّ سُرورٍ بَيننا نشرت

فَاِنهَض بِكُلّ سُرورٍ بَيننا نشرت

أَعلامه لِلمَلا يا فَوز من نَهضا

أَعلامه لِلمَلا يا فَوز من نَهضا

Then set forth with all joy; among us have been unfurled

Set out among us with all joy, under flags

Its banners before the gathering—oh, the triumph of one who sets forth!

That signify success for the exemplar you emulated.

وَاِمنَح محمّد منّي الودّ واِهد لَهُ

وَاِمنَح محمّد منّي الودّ واِهد لَهُ

محض التَهاني وَقُل يا خَير من محضا

محض التَهاني وَقُل يا خَير من محضا

And give Muhammad my affection, and offer him

And grant from me affection to Muhammed, and give him

Pure congratulations, and say: O best of those who show sincere affection,

Sincere congratulations, and say: O best of those who walked purely,

أَبشر بِخَير هناً آت يؤرّخه

أَبشر بِخَير هناً آت يؤرّخه

مِصباح سَعد وَفي أَوج الهَناء أَضا

مِصباح سَعد وَفي أَوج الهَناء أَضا

Rejoice in the blessing of joy to come, whose date is marked by:

Receive good news of joy to come, dated by

“A lamp of good fortune shone at the zenith of happiness.”

A lamp of bliss, at the peak of delight it gave light.
