بُشرىglad tidings مُشيرmarshal المَجدglory بَدرfull moon العُلىeminence
بُشرى مُشير المَجد بَدر العُلى
فيماin what لَهُfor him الرَحمَنthe Most Merciful قَدindeed يَسّرَهmade it easy
فيما لَهُ الرَحمَن قَد يَسّرَه
Glad tidings to the marshal of glory, full moon of eminence,
Good tidings, counselor of glory, full moon of nobility
For what the Most Merciful has made easy for him.
In what the Merciful has made easy for him
مَحمودpraised أَربابlords الولاloyalty فيin المَلاthe assembly
مَحمود أَرباب الولا في المَلا
ربّmaster السَخاgenerosity وَالحلمand forbearance وَالمَقدرَهand power
ربّ السَخا وَالحلم وَالمَقدرَه
Praised by the lords of loyalty in the assembly,
Praiseworthy, lords of the state in assembly
Master of generosity, forbearance, and power.
Lord of generosity, forbearance and destiny
وافيfull الهَناjoy يَسعىhastens إِلىto بابِهِhis door
وافي الهَنا يَسعى إِلى بابِهِ
وَأَوجهand the faces الإِسعادbestowing happiness مُستَبشِرَهrejoicing at glad tidings
وَأَوجه الإِسعاد مُستَبشِرَه
Joy in its fullness hastens to his door,
Loyal in delight, striving to his door
And the faces of good fortune beam with joy.
The faces of felicity rejoicing
حَيثwhere هِلالcrescent moon العامthe year قَدindeed هَلَّappeared فيin
حَيث هِلال العام قَد هَلَّ في
دائِرَةcircle السَعدgood fortune فَماand how أَنوَرَهradiant it is
دائِرَة السَعد فَما أَنوَرَه
Where the year's crescent has risen in
Where the crescent of the year has arisen
The circle of good fortune—and how radiant it is!
In the cycle of bliss, how it illuminates!
عامa year جَديدnew فيهِin it يَلقىhe finds الهَناjoy
عام جَديد فيهِ يَلقى الهَنا
وَالفَوزand victory وَالتَوفيقand success وَالمَيسَرهand prosperity
وَالفَوز وَالتَوفيق وَالمَيسَره
A new year in which he will find joy,
A new year in which joy finds
And victory, success, and prosperity.
And success, attainment and ease
حَتّىuntil إِذاwhen العزّglory صَفاgrew serene وَقتهُits time
حَتّى إِذا العزّ صَفا وَقتهُ
وَأَبدَتِand revealed الأَيّامthe days ماwhat أَضمَرَهkept it hidden
وَأَبدَتِ الأَيّام ما أَضمَرَه
Until, when glory's season grew serene,
Until when might refines its time
And the days revealed what he had kept hidden,
And days show what they harbor
ظفّرهgranted him victory اللَهGod بِنَيلthrough attaining المُنىwishes
ظفّره اللَه بِنَيل المُنى
فَجاءَso came تاريخchronogram الهَناjoy ظَفّرَهgranted him victory
فَجاءَ تاريخ الهَنا ظَفّرَه
God granted him victory in attaining his wishes;
May God grant him attaining wishes
So joy's chronogram came: 'He granted him victory.'
So the date of delight comes victorious
