وَجَماله بِجَمالهِ الباهي السَني
I warded Muhammad’s face with the blessing of his namesake,
I have shielded Muhammad’s face through his namesake,
And his beauty with his namesake’s radiant, exalted beauty.
and his beauty through his namesake’s radiant, resplendent beauty.
إِنّيindeed, I أَغارam jealously protective عَلىof مَحاسنthe charms of وَجهِهِhis face
إِنّي أَغار عَلى مَحاسن وَجهِهِ

مِن ناظِريَّ فَكَيفَ باقي الأَعيُنِ
Indeed, I jealously guard the beauties of his face
Indeed, I jealously guard the charms of his face
Even from his own two eyes—what, then, of all other eyes?
from my own two eyes—how much more from all other eyes!

A moon: if beauty were apportioned among all creation,
A moon—when beauty was apportioned among humankind,
His gracious qualities would be allotted the finest share.
his graceful traits were granted the fairest share.
