أحدوثةa tale أَحدثتcaused بَينَamong الوَرىhumankind عَجَباwonder
أحدوثة أَحدثت بَينَ الوَرى عَجَبا
فَماso not لَهاfor it مِنany نَظيرequal فيamong الحَداديثِtales
فَما لَها مِن نَظير في الحَداديثِ
A tale that stirred wonder among humankind,
A modern poem I composed, wondrous among people
so it has no equal among tales.
It has no equal among new narratives
يَعروafflicts المَطالعthe reader مِنهاfrom it حينَwhen يَقرؤهاhe reads it
يَعرو المَطالع مِنها حينَ يَقرؤها
ماwhat يَعتريafflicts الناسpeople مِنfrom وَخزpricking البراغيثِfleas
ما يَعتري الناس مِن وَخز البراغيثِ
When he reads it, it afflicts the reader
The reciter is bared of understanding when reading it
with what people suffer from the pricking of fleas.
Like people being pricked by mosquito stings
