1. أَقبل الأَحمَق يَوماً

    وَهُوَ بِالجَهل شَهيرُ

    One day the fool came forward,

    and he was famed for his ignorance,

  2. قائِلاً يا قَوم إِنّي

    رَجل فيكُم خَطيرُ

    saying, “O people, indeed I am

    a man of importance among you.

  3. عظّموني بجّلوني

    وَأَنا التَيس الكَبيرُ

    Honor me, revere me,

    and I am the big he-goat!”
