يا مالك الملك العَزيز

يا مالك الملك العَزيز

اِحفظ لَنا يا ذا الجَلالِ

O mighty Master of dominion,

O Master of mighty kingdom,

preserve for us, O Possessor of majesty,

Protect for us, O Majesty,

سُلطاننا عَبد العَزيز

سُلطاننا عَبد العَزيز

شَمس العُلى سامي المَعالي

شَمس العُلى سامي المَعالي

our Sultan Abd al-Aziz,

Our Sultan Abdulaziz,

sun of glory, lofty in eminence.

Sun of sublime heights, lofty excellences.

ملك لَهُ حسن السُلوك

ملك لَهُ حسن السُلوك

أَضحى لجيد الدَهر عقدا

أَضحى لجيد الدَهر عقدا

A king endowed with noble conduct,

A king of fine conduct,

he has become a necklace at Time's neck,

Who has become the jewel of time’s necklace,

حَتّى غَدَت كُلّ المُلوك

حَتّى غَدَت كُلّ المُلوك

تثني عَلى عَلياه حَمدا

تثني عَلى عَلياه حَمدا

until all kings came

Until all kings

to extol his exalted rank with praise.

Recite his highest praises.

ملك حَوى كُلّ الكَمال

ملك حَوى كُلّ الكَمال

وَسَما بِهِ عَرش الخِلافَه

وَسَما بِهِ عَرش الخِلافَه

A king who encompasses all perfection,

A king encompassing all perfection,

through whom the caliphate's throne rose high.

Who attained the throne of the caliphate,

وَالملك حازَ حُلى الجَمال

وَالملك حازَ حُلى الجَمال

وَالعَين ما نَظرت خِلافَه

وَالعَين ما نَظرت خِلافَه

And kingship acquired beauty's adornments,

A king who won the adornments of beauty,

and the eye has never seen its contrary.

That no eye has seen the like of.

فَاِحفظهُ يا رَبَّ العِباد

فَاِحفظهُ يا رَبَّ العِباد

وَاِمنَحهُ تَوفيقاً وَفَضلا

وَاِمنَحهُ تَوفيقاً وَفَضلا

So preserve him, O Lord of all servants,

So protect him, O Lord of servants,

and grant him success and bounty,

And grant him success and bounty,

فَهوَ الَّذي زانَ البِلاد

فَهوَ الَّذي زانَ البِلاد

وَحَبا الوَرى كَرَماً وَعَدلا

وَحَبا الوَرى كَرَماً وَعَدلا

for he is the one who adorned the lands

For he is the one who adorned the lands

and bestowed generosity and justice upon humankind.

And gifted the world with generosity and justice.

وَاِحفظ لَنا يا ذا العُلى

وَاِحفظ لَنا يا ذا العُلى

ربَّ الوَلا والي الوِلايه

ربَّ الوَلا والي الوِلايه

And preserve for us, O Possessor of sublimity,

And protect for us, O Most High,

the master of loyalty, governor of the province,

Lord of governors, overseer of overseers,

بَدر المُشيرينَ الألى

بَدر المُشيرينَ الألى

ساسوا الرَعايا بِالرِعايه

ساسوا الرَعايا بِالرِعايه

the full moon among the marshals who

Full moon of eminent ministers,

governed their subjects with care.

Who shepherded the subjects with care.

وَأَخا الوزارة من عَلا

وَأَخا الوزارة من عَلا

لُبنان فيهِ وَنال عزَّا

لُبنان فيهِ وَنال عزَّا

And the brother of the ministry, through whom

And brother of ministers, he excelled,

Lebanon rose high and gained honor,

In whom is Lebanon, and won might.

ذو سَطوةٍ لا تصطلى

ذو سَطوةٍ لا تصطلى

تَهتزّ مِنها الأَرض هَزّا

تَهتزّ مِنها الأَرض هَزّا

possessed of a might whose blaze cannot be approached,

With formidable sway,

at which the earth shakes mightily.

At which the land quakes and trembles.

وَاِمنَح بعزٍّ وَاِفتِخار

وَاِمنَح بعزٍّ وَاِفتِخار

مُتصرّف الأَحكام يمنا

مُتصرّف الأَحكام يمنا

And grant, with honor and pride,

And grant in power and pride,

the administrator of decrees good fortune,

Overseer of rulings in Yemen,

فَلَقَد حَوى حَرم الفَخار

فَلَقَد حَوى حَرم الفَخار

بِمَقام إِبراهيم أَمنا

بِمَقام إِبراهيم أَمنا

for he has embraced the sanctuary of glory,

For he contained the inviolable sanctuary,

at Ibrahim's station, in safety.

At the Station of Abraham, securely.

وَأَدم لِمَحمود الصِفا

وَأَدم لِمَحمود الصِفا

تِ فَريق جُند اللَه نَصرا

تِ فَريق جُند اللَه نَصرا

And perpetuate for Mahmoud, of praiseworthy quali-

And support Mahmoud al-Sifa,

-ties, the general of God's army, victory.

With victory for the army of God,

بَطل تَقلّد مُرهفا

بَطل تَقلّد مُرهفا

في كُلّ عُسرٍ كانَ يُسرا

في كُلّ عُسرٍ كانَ يُسرا

A hero who girded himself with a keen blade,

A hero bearing a piercing sword

in every hardship he was a source of ease.

Who eased all difficulties.

وَاِشمل طَوائفَ جَمعنا

وَاِشمل طَوائفَ جَمعنا

بِالفَضل يا رَبَّ البَرايا

بِالفَضل يا رَبَّ البَرايا

And enfold the communities of our gathering

And include the groups of our nation

in bounty, O Lord of all creatures,

With favor, O Lord of created beings,

وَهَبِ السُرور مَع الهَنا

وَهَبِ السُرور مَع الهَنا

وَأَدم لَنا حُسن العَطايا

وَأَدم لَنا حُسن العَطايا

and bestow joy along with bliss,

And grant us joy and bliss,

and perpetuate for us good gifts.

And continue your fine gifts to us.
