هَناء بِهِ البُشرى تَروح وَتَغتَدي

هَناء بِهِ البُشرى تَروح وَتَغتَدي

لَنا وَاللَيالي لا تَجور وَتَعتدي

لَنا وَاللَيالي لا تَجور وَتَعتدي

A joy whose glad tidings come evening and morning

With it comes glad tidings that revive and nurture

To us, while the nights neither oppress nor transgress.

Us, while the nights do not oppress or overstep

هَناء بِهِ الإَقبال في خير طالع

هَناء بِهِ الإَقبال في خير طالع

بَدا وَهِلال السَعد في خَير مَولدِ

بَدا وَهِلال السَعد في خَير مَولدِ

A joy in which prosperity, under the finest auspices,

With it good omens come, with fortune in ascent

Appeared, along with fortune’s crescent at the finest birth.

The crescent of bliss rose in an auspicious birth

هَناء بِنادي الأُنس نادى مُبشّراً

هَناء بِنادي الأُنس نادى مُبشّراً

بِنَيل الأَماني وَالنَجاح المُؤبّدِ

بِنَيل الأَماني وَالنَجاح المُؤبّدِ

A joy that called out in the gathering of fellowship, heralding

With it the voice of intimacy called out gladdening

The attainment of wishes and everlasting success.

The attainment of hopes and lasting success

تَهادى لَنا مِن خَير بَيت مكرم

تَهادى لَنا مِن خَير بَيت مكرم

تَسلسل فيهِ أَمجَد بَعد أَمجَدِ

تَسلسل فيهِ أَمجَد بَعد أَمجَدِ

It came gracefully to us from the finest honored house,

To us came, from a generous honored house

Where one illustrious man succeeded another.

Where glory after glory in procession tread

فَيا حَبَّذا بَيت بِهِ الفَضل وَالتُقى

فَيا حَبَّذا بَيت بِهِ الفَضل وَالتُقى

وَكَم مِن مريد عَمَّه نور مرشدِ

وَكَم مِن مريد عَمَّه نور مرشدِ

How splendid, then, a house where virtue and piety dwell!

So excellent a house, with merit and piety

And how many a disciple has been enveloped by a guide’s light!

And how many a disciple did its guiding light envelop

وَما زال يَسمو بالرفاعيّ رفعةً

وَما زال يَسمو بالرفاعيّ رفعةً

إِلى أَن تجلّى فَوق نسرٍ وَفرقدِ

إِلى أَن تجلّى فَوق نسرٍ وَفرقدِ

And through al-Rifa‘i it never ceased rising in eminence,

It kept rising with nobility and renown

Until it shone above Nasr and Farqad.

Until over eagle and panther it was manifest

فَدُم حامِداً يا أَحمَد الناس لهجة

فَدُم حامِداً يا أَحمَد الناس لهجة

فَإِنّك في العَلياء مِن نسل أَحمدِ

فَإِنّك في العَلياء مِن نسل أَحمدِ

So remain praising, O Ahmad, most praiseworthy of men in speech,

So persist, O Ahmed, the people's praise

For in the heights you are of Ahmad’s lineage.

For you are, among the exalted, of Ahmad's lineage

نَهنّيك بالنجل السعيد وَننشر الت

نَهنّيك بالنجل السعيد وَننشر الت

تَهاني وَفاءً بالوداد المُؤكّدِ

تَهاني وَفاءً بالوداد المُؤكّدِ

We congratulate you on the fortunate son and proclaim the

We congratulate you on the blessed son, and strew

Congratulations, in fidelity to our steadfast affection.

Sincere wishes, confirming affection

فَدم وَاِبق بدراً حلَّ أَكرَم مَنزلٍ

فَدم وَاِبق بدراً حلَّ أَكرَم مَنزلٍ

بِهِ المَطلع السامي اِستَنار بِسَيّدِ

بِهِ المَطلع السامي اِستَنار بِسَيّدِ

So endure and remain a full moon settled in the noblest abode,

So persist, outpacing the full moon which rose

Where the lofty place of rising was illumined by a lord.

In the most noble abode, illuminated by its master

مَقام بِأَوج المَجد أَرخَت ربعه

مَقام بِأَوج المَجد أَرخَت ربعه

سَما شَرَفاً باِسم الأَمين محمّدِ

سَما شَرَفاً باِسم الأَمين محمّدِ

A station at glory’s zenith—I dated its abode:

A station at the peak of glory which its advent

It rose in honor with the name of Muhammad the Trustworthy.

Gave the heavens pride, in the name of the Trustworthy, Mohammed
