فَقُلتso I said قولthe words of الرَجُلthe man العاقِلِwise
فَقُلت قول الرَجُل العاقِلِ
They said, “Sail the sea to attain your wishes.”
They said, "Set sail upon the sea to attain your wishes"
So I replied with the words of a wise man:
But I, being a man of reason, responded,
لاnot أَركَبI sail البَحرthe sea وَلَكنَّنيbut I
لا أَركَب البَحر وَلَكنَّني
أَطلبI seek رزقprovision اللَهGod فيon الساحلِthe shore
أَطلب رزق اللَه في الساحلِ
“I do not sail the sea, but I
"I will not ride the sea, rather
seek God's provision on the shore.”
I will seek God's bounty along the coast"
