1. كأس شمسنا بعلى سماء بدر الورد

    دار بيننا بطلا توحيد ذكر الفرد

    The cup of our sun, high in the sky of the roses' full moon,

    circulated among us with the wine of oneness, in remembrance of the Unique One.

  2. أسماء فعالا سومها تغالى

    قد عزّت مثالا

    Names and deeds—its price rose high;

    indeed, its equal was rare.

  3. غيد قدسنا بجلا مشهد مجلى نجد

    تَجلي عرسَنا بحلى نظم لآلي العقد

    The graceful maidens of our sacred realm, in the radiance of Najd's unveiled scene,

    unveil our bride with ornaments of pearls strung into a necklace:

  4. ظاهرا جمالا باطنا جلالا

    جامعا كمالا

    outwardly beauty, inwardly majesty,

    encompassing perfection.

  5. بدر أنسنا كملا بأوج أفق السعد

    إذ سنا السناء على سيناء طوري يبدي

    The full moon of our intimacy grew complete at the zenith of good fortune's horizon,

    as splendor's radiance, upon my mountain's Sinai, was revealing

  6. نوره تلالا والحجاب زالا

    والعطا توالى

    its light—it gleamed, and the veil vanished,

    and bounty followed bounty.

  7. انعم إنّنا بملا ذكر المعيد المبدي

    من صفا الدنان ملا كأس التجلّي العندي

    Be gracious: we are in a gathering remembering the Restorer, the Originator.

    From the jars' clear wine he filled the cup of self-disclosure in my presence.

  8. فانثنى ومالا صبّه وجالا

    يميناً شمالا

    Then its ardent lover swayed and leaned, and roamed

    right and left.

  9. ليس عندنا لا ولا عند السوى من قصد

    حيث وردنا عللاً من نهل عذب الورد

    We have no 'no,' nor any aim toward anything else,

    where we drank repeated draughts from a first drink at the sweet watering place.

  10. والحبيب والى خمرنا الحلالا

    صافياً زلالا

    And the Beloved kept our lawful wine flowing,

    pure and limpid.

  11. جلّ ربّنا وعلا ذو الكبريا والمجدِ

    في شهودنا سبلاً من التجلّي يهدي

    Majestic and exalted is our Lord, Possessor of grandeur and glory.

    In our witnessing He guides us along paths of self-disclosure.

  12. فله تعالى حمدنا توالى

    حالاً ومآلا

    So to Him, exalted is He, our praise flows continually,

    now and in the end.

  13. كأس خمرنا اتّصلا بمسك ختمٍ ندّي

    حيث أنّنا لصلاة مع السلام نهدي

    The cup of our wine was joined to the musk of a fragrant seal,

    since we surely offer a blessing together with peace

  14. من أحيا الكمالا وصحبا وآلا

    من إليه آلا

    to him who brought perfection to life, and to companions and family,

    who returned to him.
