رَبَّنا إِنَّنا دَخَلنا لِحُصنِكْ

رَبَّنا إِنَّنا دَخَلنا لِحُصنِكْ

وَحَلَلنا بِالخَوفِ في كَهفِ أَمنِكْ

وَحَلَلنا بِالخَوفِ في كَهفِ أَمنِكْ

Our Lord, we have entered Your fortress,

Our Lord, we have entered Your fortress,

and, in fear, have lodged in the cave of Your safety.

And taken refuge in the cave of Your security,

حَيثُما ذِكرُكَ المُنَزَّهُ حِصنٌ

حَيثُما ذِكرُكَ المُنَزَّهُ حِصنٌ

قَد رَوَيناهُ عَنكَ عَن خَيرِ كَونِك

قَد رَوَيناهُ عَنكَ عَن خَيرِ كَونِك

Everywhere, Your hallowed remembrance is a fortress;

Wherever Your Pure Name is mentioned, it is a fortress,

we have indeed related this from You, through the best of Your creation.

We have narrated it from You, from the best of Your creation,

فَاِلحَظِ الكُلَّ بِالعِنايَةِ وِاَنظُر

فَاِلحَظِ الكُلَّ بِالعِنايَةِ وِاَنظُر

لَعَبيدِ التَوحيدِ فَضلاً بِعَينِك

لَعَبيدِ التَوحيدِ فَضلاً بِعَينِك

So regard all with care, and look

So watch over all with Your care, and look

upon the servants of divine oneness, graciously, with Your eye.

With favor upon the servants of Divine Oneness,

كَم مَنَحتَ المُسيءَ إِحسانَ فَضلٍ

كَم مَنَحتَ المُسيءَ إِحسانَ فَضلٍ

مِن تَجَلّي جَمالِ أَسماءِ حُسنِك

مِن تَجَلّي جَمالِ أَسماءِ حُسنِك

How often You have bestowed gracious kindness upon the wrongdoer,

How many favors You have bestowed upon the sinner,

from the revealed beauty of the names of Your loveliness.

From the manifestation of the beauty of Your Names,

صُن إِلَهي أَهلَ الجَلالَةِ وَاِجعَل

صُن إِلَهي أَهلَ الجَلالَةِ وَاِجعَل

جَمعَهُم تَحتَ ذَيل أَستارِ صَونِك

جَمعَهُم تَحتَ ذَيل أَستارِ صَونِك

Protect, my God, the people of majesty, and place

Protect, my God, the people of majesty, and make

their gathering beneath the hem of the veils of Your protection.

Them together under the hem of the curtains of Your protection,

كَيفَ أَيدي الأَغيارِ تَمتَدُّ بِالسو

كَيفَ أَيدي الأَغيارِ تَمتَدُّ بِالسو

ءِ عَلَينا وَنَحنُ في ذِكرِ شَأنِك

ءِ عَلَينا وَنَحنُ في ذِكرِ شَأنِك

How can strangers' hands reach out in evil

How can the hands of strangers extend with evil

against us, while we remember Your greatness?

Toward us while we are in the mention of Your affair,

يا جَليساً لِلذاكِرينَ أَنيساً

يا جَليساً لِلذاكِرينَ أَنيساً

حِفَّهُم بِالأَمانِ مِن رَوعِ بَينِك

حِفَّهُم بِالأَمانِ مِن رَوعِ بَينِك

O companion to those who remember You, their comforting friend,

O Companion to those who remember, intimate

surround them with safety from the dread of separation from You—

To them with safety from the fears among You,

مِثلَما حَفَّتِ المَلائِكُ فيهِم

مِثلَما حَفَّتِ المَلائِكُ فيهِم

مِن صُروفِ الرَدى بِألطافِ مَنِّك

مِن صُروفِ الرَدى بِألطافِ مَنِّك

just as the angels have encircled them—

Just as the angels protected them,

and from the blows of doom, through the gentle favors of Your bounty.

From the vicissitudes of harm with Your kindnesses,

رَوضَةُ الذِكرِ أَينَعتُ بِغُصونٍ

رَوضَةُ الذِكرِ أَينَعتُ بِغُصونٍ

مِن قُلوبٍ قَد جادَها غَيثُ مُزنِك

مِن قُلوبٍ قَد جادَها غَيثُ مُزنِك

The garden of remembrance has flourished with branches

The garden of remembrance flourished with branches

of hearts richly watered by the rain of Your clouds.

From hearts pouring forth from the rain of Your gifts,

هِيَ لا رَيبَ رَوضَةٌ ذاتُ وَصلٍ

هِيَ لا رَيبَ رَوضَةٌ ذاتُ وَصلٍ

بِنَعيمٍ مِن خُلدِ جَنَّةِ عَدنِك

بِنَعيمٍ مِن خُلدِ جَنَّةِ عَدنِك

It is, without doubt, a garden connected

It is without doubt a garden of connection,

to the bliss of Your everlasting Garden of Eden.

To eternal bliss from the Paradise of Your Eden,

كَيفَ يَخشى أُهيلُها مِن عَذابٍ

كَيفَ يَخشى أُهيلُها مِن عَذابٍ

حَيثُ هُم في نَعيمِ رَحمَةِ عَونِك

حَيثُ هُم في نَعيمِ رَحمَةِ عَونِك

How can its dear inhabitants fear torment,

How can its visitors fear punishment

when they dwell in the bliss of Your merciful aid?

While they are in the bliss of the mercy of Your help,

يا إِلَهي أَدِر رَحيقَ شَرابِ ال

يا إِلَهي أَدِر رَحيقَ شَرابِ ال

قُربِ فيهِم وَاِفتَح لَهُم خَتمَ دَنِّك

قُربِ فيهِم وَاِفتَح لَهُم خَتمَ دَنِّك

O my God, pass round the nectar of the draught of

My God, make the wine of the closeness’ nectar flow in them

nearness among them, and unseal Your wine jar for them,

And open for them the seal of Your nearness,

مِن يَدِ السَيِّدِ الحَبيبِ الَّذي جا

مِن يَدِ السَيِّدِ الحَبيبِ الَّذي جا

ءَ بِقِسطِ الهُدى وَقامَ بِوَزنِك

ءَ بِقِسطِ الهُدى وَقامَ بِوَزنِك

from the hand of the beloved master who came

From the hand of the Beloved Master who brought

with the justice of guidance, and upheld Your balance.

The justice of guidance and stood by Your Balance,

فَعَلَيهِ الصَلاةُ والآلِ وَالصَح

فَعَلَيهِ الصَلاةُ والآلِ وَالصَح

بِ حُماةِ الحِمى الأَمينِ بِأَمنِك

بِ حُماةِ الحِمى الأَمينِ بِأَمنِك

So blessings be upon him, his family, and the Companions—

So blessings and peace be upon him and his family and companions,

guardians of the sanctuary made secure by Your protection.

The protectors of the sanctity, trusted with Your security.
