رسول الرضا قد أثقلتني جنايةٌ

رسول الرضا قد أثقلتني جنايةٌ

وما ثمّ جاهٌ غير جاهك يطلبُ

وما ثمّ جاهٌ غير جاهك يطلبُ

O Messenger of divine favor, a transgression has indeed weighed me down.

O Messenger of Contentment, a crime has weighed heavily upon me

And there is no standing to be sought but yours.

And there is no refuge other than yours that I may seek

فإنّك باب الله للعفو والرضا

فإنّك باب الله للعفو والرضا

وليس لعاصٍ دون بابك مهرب

وليس لعاصٍ دون بابك مهرب

For you are God's gate to pardon and divine favor.

For you are the door to God's pardon and satisfaction

And a sinner has no escape apart from your gate.

And no sinner has an escape other than your door

ألم يرضك الرحمن في سورة الضحى

ألم يرضك الرحمن في سورة الضحى

وما بعدها إذ كنت أنت المقرّب

وما بعدها إذ كنت أنت المقرّب

Did not the Most Merciful make you content in Surah al-Duha,

Did not the Most Merciful please you in Surat Ad-Duha

And in what comes after it, since you were the one brought near?

And what came after it when you were the most favored

وناداك مذ أدناك حدّث بنعمتي

وناداك مذ أدناك حدّث بنعمتي

وحاشاك أن ترضى وفينا معذّب

وحاشاك أن ترضى وفينا معذّب

And He called to you when He drew you near: 'Speak of My blessing.'

And called you when He brought you near, "Speak of My blessings"

And far be it from you to be content while one of us is tormented.

And far be it from you to be pleased while among us there is one punished
