دعا الناس محي الدين عارفُ وقته
بهthrough Him حيثas يدعوهcalls him لحضرةto the presence of ربّهhis Lord
به حيث يدعوه لحضرة ربّه
Muhyi al-Din, the gnostic of his age, called the people
Mohiuddin Arabi called people in his time
through Him, as He calls him to his Lord’s presence.
To come to the presence of their Lord whenever he called them.
فمنso who ذاthis one الّذيwho لمdid not يستجبrespond ثمّthen يقتفيfollow
فمن ذا الّذي لم يستجب ثمّ يقتفي
بمفردafter the peerless one of أهلpeople of اللهGod فيin بعضsome of كتبهhis books
بمفرد أهل الله في بعض كتبه
Who, then, would not respond and then follow
Who then refused to follow
the peerless one among God’s people in some of his books?
The saints of God mentioned in some of his books?
وصيّرهand made him ربّيmy Lord لكلّfor every محقّقٍknower of truth
وصيّره ربّي لكلّ محقّقٍ
حقيقةa reality of حقٍّTruth قدhas دعاهcalled him لقربهto His nearness
حقيقة حقٍّ قد دعاه لقربه
And my Lord made him, for every knower of truth,
My Lord made him for every realizer of truth
a reality of Truth; He has called him into His nearness.
A true truth he called them to come near to.
أجيبواrespond لهto him ياO قومناour people حيثsince قدhas غداbecome
أجيبوا له يا قومنا حيث قد غدا
إماماًan imam فياso, O طوبىbliss لهto him ولحزبهand to his followers
إماماً فيا طوبى له ولحزبه
Respond to him, O our people, for he has become
Respond to him, O my people, wherever he goes,
an imam—so bliss to him and to his followers!
As a leader - blessed is he and his party!
