The Tomb of Muḥyī al-Dīn Ibn al-ʿArabī
The tomb of Muhyi al-Din Ibn al-Arabi—
How many a trustworthy authority has related reports of him!
How many trustworthy people have related accounts of it!
إنّهindeed it فيin دهرهits time يعطيgrants المنىwishes
إنّه في دهره يعطي المنى
كلeveryone منwho لاذsought refuge بهin it أوor زارهvisited it
كل من لاذ به أو زاره
Indeed, in his time he grants wishes
Indeed, throughout its existence it grants wishes
to everyone who seeks refuge with him or visits him.
To everyone who sought refuge there or visited it.
قضيتwere fulfilled حاجاتهhis needs منfrom بعدafter ماthat (clause marker)
قضيت حاجاته من بعد ما
أنthat (clause marker) جنىplucked منfrom روضهits garden أزهارهits blossoms
أن جنى من روضه أزهاره
Each such visitor’s needs are fulfilled, after
His needs were fulfilled after
he has gathered the blossoms of the saint’s garden,
He plucked its blossoms from its garden
واحتسىand sipped كأسcup المنىwishes صرفاًundiluted وقدand indeed
واحتسى كأس المنى صرفاً وقد
غفرforgave اللهGod لهfor him أوزارهhis sins
غفر الله له أوزاره
and drunk the cup of wishes, pure and unmixed—and already
And sipped the cup of wishes undiluted; and indeed
God has forgiven that visitor his burdens of sin.
God forgave him his sins.
