حقيقة الحقّلا تعدُّ

وباطن الأمر لا يحدُّ

وباطن الأمر لا يحدُّ

The reality of the Real cannot be numbered,

And the inner reality of the matter cannot be bounded.

سواه فينا بدا بحسن

سواه فينا بدا بحسن

فقيل حَسنَا وقيل دعد

فقيل حَسنَا وقيل دعد

What is other than Him appeared within us in beauty,

So it was called Hasna, and it was called Da'd,

وقيل ميٌّ وقيل لبنى

وقيل ميٌّ وقيل لبنى

وقيل سُعدَى وقيل هند

وقيل سُعدَى وقيل هند

And it was called Mayy, and it was called Lubna,

And it was called Su'da, and it was called Hind.

بطونُه في الخفا ظهورٌ

بطونُه في الخفا ظهورٌ

وقربه في العيان بعد

وقربه في العيان بعد

His hiddenness in concealment is manifestation,

And His nearness in plain sight is distance.

فاطرب على هذه المعاني

فاطرب على هذه المعاني

واشرب عليها فنعم ورد

واشرب عليها فنعم ورد

So rejoice in these meanings,

And drink to them—for what a fine draught!
