Through you I love the graceful maiden and the slender beauties.

And I love the main road and the neck.

إن همت بهندٍ أو أسما

فمرادي مشهدك الأسمى

فمرادي مشهدك الأسمى

If I am lovesick for Hind or Asma,

Then my aim is the most exalted vision of you.

وبنور صفاتك والأسما

وبنور صفاتك والأسما

يزداد فؤادي توحيدا

يزداد فؤادي توحيدا

And through the light of your attributes and names,

My heart grows in affirming divine oneness.

فعليك بخمرتنا البكرِ

فعليك بخمرتنا البكرِ

من حانة سيّدنا البكري

من حانة سيّدنا البكري

So hold fast to our virgin wine,

From the tavern of our master al-Bakri.

وبطيب ورودك في الذكرِ

وبطيب ورودك في الذكرِ

كن عند حضورك مفقودا

كن عند حضورك مفقودا

And in the sweetness of your entry into remembrance,

Be absent even as you are present.

وصلاة الله مدى الدهرِ

وصلاة الله مدى الدهرِ

لنبيٍّ توّج بالفخر

لنبيٍّ توّج بالفخر

And may God's blessing, throughout all time,

Be upon a Prophet crowned with glory,

والآل مع الصحب الغرِّ

والآل مع الصحب الغرِّ

ما أبدا الطائر تغريدا

ما أبدا الطائر تغريدا

And his family, together with his radiant companions,

As long as the bird gives forth song.
