    O you who placed the knife, after slaying your victim,

    Into your mouth—you, al-Khidr in your fragrant breath—

    Then fed your blade from the wellspring of your life,

    Within your mouth, giving it the nectar of your palate to drink:

    تسري الحياة به بعيد مماته

    Return it to the slain one a second time;

    Life will course through him shortly after his death.

    There is no doubt that life will return; you will restore it,

    And I guarantee him the restoration of his life.
