فاقصدوه فذاك أعظم حجِّ
Our path in spiritual wayfaring is the nearest path.
My path of conduct is the closest path
So seek it, for that is the greatest pilgrimage.
So pursue it, for that is the greatest pilgrimage

فأتته السراة من كلّ فجّ
The spiritual opening proclaimed from it to the people: 'Make pilgrimage!'
The ear of victory calls people to pilgrimage
So the nobles came to it from every mountain pass.
So caravans came from every mountain pass

I adjure you by God, O seeker of nearness:
May God prolong your life, O seeker of closeness
You have attained, by God, in the sanctuary what you hope for.
By God, you have attained in spiritual retreat what you hope for

Obtain the secret from you a glance of kindness
From the dark eyes of the maiden of intimacy.
From eyes whose pupils are drowned in intimate companionship
