لاح نور الدعا بأفق الطروسِ
ينجليreveals itself بالقبولthrough acceptance مجلىlike the unveiling of العروسِthe bride
ينجلي بالقبول مجلى العروسِ
The light of supplication shone on the horizon of the written pages,
Unveiling itself through acceptance, as a bride is unveiled.
وبأعلىand in the highest سماheaven of الإجابةanswered prayer قدhas لاshone (first fragment)
وبأعلى سما الإجابة قد لا
حshone (final fragment) بإشراقwith the radiance of بهجةٍjoy كالشموسlike the suns
ح بإشراق بهجةٍ كالشموس
And in the highest heaven of answered prayer it has
Shone with the radiance of joy, like suns.
كيفhow والقلبwhile the heart فيin دجاthe darkness of الغيبthe unseen أهداoffered
كيف والقلب في دجا الغيب أهدا
هit لشهمٍto a gallant man منfrom الردىdeath محروسprotected
ه لشهمٍ من الردى محروس
How could it not, when the heart, in the darkness of the unseen, offered
It to a gallant man protected from death?
فعلىso upon ذاتهhis person سلامٌpeace تجلّىshone forth
فعلى ذاته سلامٌ تجلّى
منfrom سلامthe peace of المهيمنthe Guardian القدّوسthe Most Holy
من سلام المهيمن القدّوس
So upon his person be peace, shining forth
From the peace of the Guardian, the Most Holy.
جاءcame يهديoffers as a gift إليهto him فيat كلّevery وقتٍmoment
جاء يهدي إليه في كلّ وقتٍ
منfrom محبٍّa lover بشوقهby his longing محبوسheld captive
من محبٍّ بشوقه محبوس
It came as an offering to him at every moment,
From a lover held captive by his longing.
