Between me and you, in love, lies a subtle mystery,
Between you and I in love there is a joke
From an ancient covenant of primordial particles in obscurity.
From the age of atoms in blindness ancient
فظهورهاthus its manifestation مجلىa locus of revelation ألستُAm I not? وإنّهاand indeed it
فظهورها مجلى ألستُ وإنّها
مستورةٌveiled عنfrom سرّthe secret of هذاthis العالمworld
مستورةٌ عن سرّ هذا العالم
Thus its manifestation is where ‘Am I not?’ is revealed; yet it
Its appearance, I was polished, and it
Is veiled from the secret of this world.
Hidden from the secret of this world
نحنwe الّذيwhose تعارفتrecognized one another أرواحناour souls
نحن الّذي تعارفت أرواحنا
فيin جمعهاtheir gathering القدسيّsacred الصحيحsound السالمwhole
في جمعها القدسيّ الصحيح السالم
We are those whose souls recognized one another
We who became acquainted spirits
In their sacred gathering, sound and whole.
In their assembly holy, right, and peaceful
جندٌa host مجنّدةٌmustered هناكthere تعارفتrecognized one another
جندٌ مجنّدةٌ هناك تعارفت
منfrom قبلbefore خلقcreation اللهGod طينةclay آدمAdam
من قبل خلق الله طينة آدم
A mustered host: there they recognized one another
Soldiers organized there became acquainted
