رَبَّنا إِنَّنا لَهَجنا بِذِكرِكْ

رَبَّنا إِنَّنا لَهَجنا بِذِكرِكْ

وَوَقفنا بِالذُلِّ في بابِ بِرِّكْ

وَوَقفنا بِالذُلِّ في بابِ بِرِّكْ

Our Lord, we have been fervent in remembering You.

Our Lord, we did mention You

And we have stood in humility at the gate of Your goodness.

And stood humble at Your door of kindness

قُلتَ في ذِكرِكَ القَديمِ اِذكُروني

قُلتَ في ذِكرِكَ القَديمِ اِذكُروني

فَاِمتَثَلنا بِالسَمعِ طَوعاً لِأَمرِك

فَاِمتَثَلنا بِالسَمعِ طَوعاً لِأَمرِك

You said in Your eternal Word, 'Remember Me.'

You said in Your ancient remembrance, remember Me

So we listened and willingly obeyed Your command.

So we obeyed hearing, willingly following Your command

وَذَكَرناكَ فَاِذكُر الكُلَّ مِنّا

وَذَكَرناكَ فَاِذكُر الكُلَّ مِنّا

بِتَجَلّي الأَسرارِ مِن سِرِّ سِرِّك

بِتَجَلّي الأَسرارِ مِن سِرِّ سِرِّك

And we remembered You; so remember us all,

And we remembered You, so remember all of us

Through the unveiling of mysteries from the secret of Your secret.

With the unveiling of secrets from the secret of Your secrets

وَأَتَينا مُوَحِّدينَ بِقَلبٍ

وَأَتَينا مُوَحِّدينَ بِقَلبٍ

لَيسَ فيهِ شُهودُ تَوحيدِ غَيرِك

لَيسَ فيهِ شُهودُ تَوحيدِ غَيرِك

And we came affirming Your oneness, with a heart

And we came as monotheists with a heart

In which no affirmation of oneness is witnessed but Yours.

In which none are present save Your Oneness

وَعَبَدناكَ حَيثُما أَنتَ أَهلٌ

وَعَبَدناكَ حَيثُما أَنتَ أَهلٌ

وَحَمَدناكَ مَع تَزايُدِ شُكرِك

وَحَمَدناكَ مَع تَزايُدِ شُكرِك

And we worshipped You as befits You,

And we worshipped You wherever You are worthy

And praised You with ever-increasing gratitude to You.

And We praised You as Your gratitude increased

مِنكَ نَرجو التَوفيقَ سِرّاً وَجَهراً

مِنكَ نَرجو التَوفيقَ سِرّاً وَجَهراً

فَجَميعُ القُلوبِ في قَيدِ أَسرِك

فَجَميعُ القُلوبِ في قَيدِ أَسرِك

From You we hope for enabling grace, in secret and openly,

From You we hope for success, secretly and openly

For all hearts are bound in captivity to You.

For all hearts are chained by Your captivity

أَعطِنا سُؤلَنا وَحَقِّق رَجانا

أَعطِنا سُؤلَنا وَحَقِّق رَجانا

وَلَكَ الأَمرُ كُلُّنا تَحتَ قَهرِك

وَلَكَ الأَمرُ كُلُّنا تَحتَ قَهرِك

Grant us what we ask, and fulfill our hope.

Grant us our request and fulfill our hopes

And Yours is the command; we are all beneath Your subduing power.

For the command is Yours, we all are under Your subjugation

قَد شَهِدنا بِوَحدَةِ الذاتِ لَسنا

قَد شَهِدنا بِوَحدَةِ الذاتِ لَسنا

مِثلَ مَن في شُهودِهِ جاءَ مُشرِك

مِثلَ مَن في شُهودِهِ جاءَ مُشرِك

We have indeed borne witness to the oneness of the Essence; we are not

We have testified to the Oneness of Your Essence, we are not

Like one who, in his witnessing, came as a polytheist.

Like those whose witnessing has association

أَرِنا رَبَّنا بِكَ الحَقَّ حَقّاً

أَرِنا رَبَّنا بِكَ الحَقَّ حَقّاً

عَن تَجَلّي آثارِ أَقدارِ قَدرِك

عَن تَجَلّي آثارِ أَقدارِ قَدرِك

Show us, our Lord, through Yourself, the Truth as truth,

Show us, our Lord, the truth as truth

Through the manifestation of the traces of the destinies You decree.

Beyond manifestation of traces of Your ordained destiny

كُلُّ ما في الوُجودِ حَقٌّ وَهَذا

كُلُّ ما في الوُجودِ حَقٌّ وَهَذا

بِشُهودِ الجَميعِ مَظهَرُ أَمرِك

بِشُهودِ الجَميعِ مَظهَرُ أَمرِك

All that exists is truth, and this,

All that exists is truth, and this

As witnessed by all, is a manifestation of Your command.

Is by all witnessing, manifestation of Your affair

فَأَذِقنا خَمرَ الشُهودِ لِتُجلَى

فَأَذِقنا خَمرَ الشُهودِ لِتُجلَى

بِالتَجَلّي لَنا بَراقِعُ سِترِك

بِالتَجَلّي لَنا بَراقِعُ سِترِك

So let us taste the wine of witnessing, that there may be lifted

So let us taste the wine of witnessing to unveil

Through self-disclosure, for us, the veils of Your concealment.

By unveiling, the coverings of Your veil be removed from us

وَاِسقِنا في الحِمى كُؤوسَ التَداني

وَاِسقِنا في الحِمى كُؤوسَ التَداني

بِيَدِ الفَيضِ مِن مَدامَةِ ذِكرِك

بِيَدِ الفَيضِ مِن مَدامَةِ ذِكرِك

And give us, in the sanctuary, cups of nearness to drink,

And quench our thirst in sanctuaries with cups of nearing

By the hand of overflowing grace, from the wine of remembering You.

By the hand of grace, from the wine of Your remembrance

بِالحَبيبِ الَّذي هُوَ البابُ لِلفَت

بِالحَبيبِ الَّذي هُوَ البابُ لِلفَت

حِ وَمَن حازَ مِنكَ مِفتاحَ نَصرِك

حِ وَمَن حازَ مِنكَ مِفتاحَ نَصرِك

By the Beloved, who is the gate to the open-

By the Beloved who is the door to opening, and whoever attained

ing, and who gained from You the key to Your victory.

From You keys of victory, upon him blessings and peace

فَعَلَيهِ الصَلاةُ وَالآلِ وَالصَح

فَعَلَيهِ الصَلاةُ وَالآلِ وَالصَح

بِ مَدى الدَهرِ ما هَمى غَيثُ بِرِّك

بِ مَدى الدَهرِ ما هَمى غَيثُ بِرِّك

So upon him be blessings, and upon his family and compan-

As long as the days continue, wherever Your kindness rains.

ions, throughout all time, as long as the rain of Your goodness pours.
