وانّand that عُلاكَyour glory واريةُsparking الزنادِthe firesticks

May it gladden you that your dominion is increasing,
Rejoice that your kingdom is on the rise,
and that your glory's firesticks are sparking,
Your glory overtakes the glow of dawn.

and that you are one who, when a loyal supporter describes
You who, when your allies are described,
his virtues, is acknowledged even by his foe.
Even foes admit to your virtues.

Talk of your hospitality has delighted every ear,
Talk of your generosity delights all ears,

Your fame perfumes each assembly.
وينقادand submit الملوكُthe kings لكto you اعتقاداًout of conviction
وينقاد الملوكُ لك اعتقاداً
وماand not انقادواthey submitted لغيركto anyone but you باعتقادwith conviction
وما انقادوا لغيرك باعتقاد
And kings submit to you out of conviction,
Kings submit to you out of conviction,
while they have not submitted to anyone else with conviction.
Never submitting so to another.

فهم مِلكُ السيوف أو الأيادي
You have mastered their necks through might and generosity;
You rule them by your munificence and might,
thus they belong to swords or to beneficent hands.
The sword masters, the very hands of kings.

جعلتَ عطاءَهُ طول السُّهادِ
When you review the army of thought by night,
When you review the army of your thoughts at night,
you make prolonged wakefulness its stipend.
You make their gift as long as a wakeful man's nap.

When they don darkness as armor, and terror is manifest,
When clothed in night’s veil and terrors, they march on,
they travel by night, their stars the white blazes of steeds.
Their stars the steely glint of stallions’ coats.

So with supple brown spears, when they dispute,
With Indian blades, when they close ranks,
you soften them—and with keen-edged, gleaming swords.
You guide them, white banners fluttering.
