مازِلتُ أَنفي الخَسفَ عَنّي وَأَحتَمي

مازِلتُ أَنفي الخَسفَ عَنّي وَأَحتَمي

وَبَعضُهُم إِن سيمَ بِالخَسفِ مُلبِسُ

وَبَعضُهُم إِن سيمَ بِالخَسفِ مُلبِسُ

I have always warded off humiliation and defended myself.

I still deny ruin will befall me though I seek

Yet some of them, if subjected to humiliation, submit.

Its shelter, while for others but a gust foretells their shroud
