إِذا أَخَذَت كَفّي بِقائِمِ مُرهَفٍ
وَكانَand it was قَصيراًshort عادَbecomes وَهوَand it is طَويلُlong
وَكانَ قَصيراً عادَ وَهوَ طَويلُ
When my hand takes hold of the hilt of a keen-edged sword,
When my hand grasps the hilt of a keen-edged sword,
though it was short, it comes back long.
