سائِل بِيَ المُختارَ كُم قَد ذَعَرتُهُ

سائِل بِيَ المُختارَ كُم قَد ذَعَرتُهُ

وَشَرَدتُ أَطرافاً لَهُ وَجُموعا

وَشَرَدتُ أَطرافاً لَهُ وَجُموعا

Ask al-Mukhtar about me—how often I have terrified him,

I asked the Chosen One, how many

And routed his detachments and hosts.

I dispersed for him, and how many groups

وَقاتَلتُهُ وَالناسُ قَد أَذعَنوا لَهُ

وَقاتَلتُهُ وَالناسُ قَد أَذعَنوا لَهُ

وَقَد أَقشَعَ الأَحياءُ عَنهُ جَميعا

وَقَد أَقشَعَ الأَحياءُ عَنهُ جَميعا

And I fought him while the people had submitted to him,

I fought against him, while people submitted to him

And all the tribes had dispersed away from him.

And the living all disappeared before him
