إِذا طالَ نزاعي لِجِدالي اِعتَرَضوا
Why have the extremist sects deemed reproaching me a duty?
The fanatical Shia are not to blame for accusing me,
When my dispute drags on, they object to my arguing.
When my dispute grew long, they objected to my debate.
أَقسَمتُI swore بدينby the faith of عشقهاlove for her صادقَةًsincerely
أَقسَمتُ بدين عشقها صادقَةً

لَو سُنَّةَ وَجهها رأوا ما رَفَضوا
I swore sincerely by the faith of loving her:
I swear by the true religion of her love,
Had they seen the form of her face, they would not have rejected it.
If they had seen the radiance of her face, they would not have rejected.
