لِلريحِto the wind يَقولُsays فاغمُthe fragrant one الأَزهارِof the flowers
لِلريحِ يَقولُ فاغمُ الأَزهارِ
لَولاكwere it not for you لَماwould not have بَدَوتُI appeared لِلنُظّارِto onlookers
لَولاك لَما بَدَوتُ لِلنُظّارِ
The fragrant flower says to the wind:
For the breeze, the impassioned lover of flowers says,
Were it not for you, I would not have appeared to onlookers.
Had it not been for you, I would not have appeared before onlookers.
أَصبَحتُI have become إِلَيكَtoward you شاخصَfixed in gaze الأَبصارِthe eyes
أَصبَحتُ إِلَيكَ شاخصَ الأَبصارِ
هاbehold إِنّيَindeed I فيكَthrough you اِنتُهِكَتwere violated أَستاريmy veils
ها إِنّيَ فيكَ اِنتُهِكَت أَستاري
My eyes are now fixed upon you.
My sights are now set on you,
Behold, through you my veils have been torn.
Lo, in you my secrets are laid bare.
