زارَتshe visited فَتَرَكتُso I forsook لَذَّةَthe pleasure الإِغفاءِof slumber
زارَت فَتَرَكتُ لَذَّةَ الإِغفاءِ
أُحييI bring to life مَعهاwith her اللَيلَthe night وَأَشكوand I lament دائيmy ailment
أُحيي مَعها اللَيلَ وَأَشكو دائي
She visited, so I forsook the pleasure of slumber.
She came to me and left behind the bliss of sleep
I bring the night to life with her and lament my ailment.
I spend the night conversing with her and complain of my pain
أَحيانيَrevived me بِالوِصالِthrough union لَيليmy night هَذاthis
أَحيانيَ بِالوِصالِ لَيلي هَذا
فالواجِبُso it is obligatory أَنthat يُخصَّit be singled out بالإِحياءِby keeping vigil
فالواجِبُ أَن يُخصَّ بالإِحياءِ
This night of mine revived me through union,
She brought my night alive with her company
so it ought to be singled out for a vigil.
So it deserves to be kept alive
