Rise and weep for my youth, for I am passing away.
Arise and lament my youth, for I am doomed,
And mourn me, since you killed me, O wrongdoer.
Mourn me, when you have slain me, O my life-taker,

If the beloved's pleasure lies in shedding my blood,
If in shedding my blood, my beloved finds content,
Glad tidings that his heart is free of concern for me!
Good tidings that his heart is free of me, his slanderer.
