أَدرِكنيَrescue me أَيُّهاO الظَلومُthe grievously unjust one القاسيthe cruel one
أَدرِكنيَ أَيُّها الظَلومُ القاسي
هَذاthis وَهَواكَby my love for you آخِرُthe last of الأَنفاسِbreaths
هَذا وَهَواكَ آخِرُ الأَنفاسِ
Rescue me, O cruel oppressor!
O cruel oppressor, reach me
This, by my love for you, is my last breath.
As this is your desire, my final breath
أَشرَفتُI reached the brink عَلىof المَوتِdeath وَماand how أَطيبَهُsweet it is
أَشرَفتُ عَلى المَوتِ وَما أَطيبَهُ
لَوif لَمnot تَكُwere مَيتَتيmy death بِداءِfrom the malady of الياسِdespair
لَو لَم تَكُ مَيتَتي بِداءِ الياسِ
I have reached the brink of death—and how sweet it would be,
I stand at the precipice of death, how sweet it is
were my death not from the malady of despair.
If not for my death being plagued by despair
