1. يا صاحِ إِليَّ عمرَك اللَّه إِليَّ

    أَدركنيَ عاجِلاً بِلا عادة ليّ

    O friend, come to me—may God preserve your life—come to me!

    Come to my aid at once, without the customary delay.

  2. مِمّا سَلَبَ اليَومَ قَراري أَنّي

    واصَلتُ قطوعاً مَلَكَ القَلبَ عَليَّ

    Among the things that stole my peace today is that I

    have kept ties with one who breaks them, who has seized my heart from me.
