ياO دارُdwelling سُقيتِmay you be watered عَبرَتيmy tear ياO دارdwelling
يا دارُ سُقيتِ عَبرَتي يا دار
ماذاwhat فَعَلتhave done بيto me وَبِكَand to you الأَدوارُthe turns of time
ماذا فَعَلت بي وَبِكَ الأَدوارُ
O dwelling, may you be watered by my tear, O dwelling.
O home, you've drunk my tears. O home,
What have the turns of time done to me and to you?
What have time and fate done to me and you?
مِنbecause of آهَةِthe sigh of وَجديmy longing وَدُموعيand my tears أَخشىI fear
مِن آهَةِ وَجدي وَدُموعي أَخشى
أَنthat تَمحوكِerase you الرِياحُthe winds وَالأَمطارُand the rains
أَن تَمحوكِ الرِياحُ وَالأَمطارُ
Because of my longing’s sigh and my tears, I fear
From my woes and tears shed here I fear
that the winds and rains will erase you.
The winds and rains will wipe your traces too.
