لا يبلغُ طالِبُ العلا مَرقاتي
أَنّىhow could he? وَبِدايَتيand my beginning مَدىutmost reach الغاياتِthe goals
أَنّى وَبِدايَتي مَدى الغاياتِ
No seeker of eminence reaches my rung.
The seeker of knowledge will never attain my heights
How could he, when my beginning is the utmost reach of goals?
How could he when my beginnings surpass the utmost goals?
عاطَيتُI offered منof العِلمِknowledge لَعَمريby my life نُخبَاًchoice selections
عاطَيتُ من العِلمِ لَعَمري نُخبَاً
لَمnot يأَتيit comes بِهاwith them الدَورُtime وَلاand not إِنif ياتيit comes
لَم يأَتي بِها الدَورُ وَلا إِن ياتي
I have offered, by my life, choice selections of knowledge
I have given to knowledge, by my life, the choicest parts
That time has never brought forth, nor ever will.
That time has not yet brought, nor will it ever bring
