إِن جاذَبَ غَيرَ حَبل صدغيك يَدي

إِن جاذَبَ غَيرَ حَبل صدغيك يَدي

فاِنقض مِرَر العهد وزد في كَمَدي

فاِنقض مِرَر العهد وزد في كَمَدي

If my hand tugs at any cord but that of your two sidelocks,

If a rope other than your cheek pulls my hand,

Then unravel the covenant’s strands and deepen my sorrow.

Break the covenant and add to my shackles.

عذِّبنيَ بِالنار غَراماً واِهجر

عذِّبنيَ بِالنار غَراماً واِهجر

إِن أَخلدَ نَحوَ حورِ خُلدٍ خَلَدي

إِن أَخلدَ نَحوَ حورِ خُلدٍ خَلَدي

Torment me with fire as punishment, and forsake me,

Torment me with fire passionately and abandon me,

If my heart inclines toward the houris of eternity.

If I drift towards the nymphs of eternity, my eternity.
