قَدindeed قُلتُI said وَوَصلُهاand union with her غَليليmy burning thirst نَقَعاquenched
قَد قُلتُ وَوَصلُها غَليلي نَقَعا
ماno مِثليَlike me عاشِقٌa lover هَواكَlove for you اِتّبعاfollowed
ما مِثليَ عاشِقٌ هَواكَ اِتّبعا
I said, as union with her quenched my burning thirst:
I have said and the yearning for you reached me
No lover has pursued your love as I have.
No lover like me pursued your love
فيin عِشقكِloving you كَمhow many لَطيفَةٍa delightful thing ليto me وَقعتbefell
في عِشقكِ كَم لَطيفَةٍ لي وَقعت
قالَتshe said أَتَرىdo you think أَلطَفَmore delightful مِنّيthan me وَقعاhappened
قالَت أَتَرى أَلطَفَ مِنّي وَقعا
How many delights befell me in loving you!
In love of you how many subtle things befell me
She said, "Do you think anything more delightful than me has happened?"
She said, "Do you see one subtler than me?"
