I love a young gazelle; through him I have become envied.
I love a sprig, by which I became envied,
I was bound by the cord of his temple-lock, tied fast.
Bound by a rope to his cheek well-tied,
لاnot مُختَصَرُslender in الخصرthe waist قَليلُscant in المَعنىmeaning
لا مُختَصَرُ الخصر قَليلُ المَعنى

لا النَفسُ تَمَلُّ رِدفَه المَبسوطا
The slender-waisted one is not scant in meaning;
His waist is not petite with little meaning,
Nor does the soul tire of his ample rump.
Nor does my soul tire of his broad back.
