مَهماwhenever خَبَتِdied down البُروقُthe lightning flashes فيin الآفاقِthe horizons
مَهما خَبَتِ البُروقُ في الآفاقِ
أوريتُI kindled زنادهنَّtheir flints بالأَشواقِwith longings
أوريتُ زنادهنَّ بالأَشواقِ
However much the lightning flashes die down along the horizons,
Whenever the lightning flashes fade along the horizons,
I kindle their fire-strikers with longing.
I kindle their flints with longing.
فيin الجَوِّthe sky تَلَسَّنَتthey grew tongues فَبَثَّتthen they scattered شرراًsparks
في الجَوِّ تَلَسَّنَت فَبَثَّت شرراً
لاno غَروَwonder عَدَتthey outstripped أَلسِنَةَtongues العشّاقِthe lovers
لا غَروَ عَدَت أَلسِنَةَ العشّاقِ
In the sky they grow tongues and scatter sparks—
In the sky they grow tongues and scatter sparks;
no wonder they outstrip the tongues of lovers.
No wonder they outstrip the tongues of lovers.
