لِلَّهِFor God! (expressing admiration) مُصافِحانtwo who clasp hands هَمّاthe two resolved بِوفاقon accord
لِلَّهِ مُصافِحان هَمّا بِوفاق
مِنfrom شَفعِهماtheir pairing الوِترَthe lone one يرىsees مِنof هولاقHulagu
مِن شَفعِهما الوِترَ يرى مِن هولاق
How wondrous the two who clasp hands, intent on accord!
From their pairing, the lone one sees something of Hulagu.
أَخذاًseizing بِمَخانِقby the throats of الغيورthe jealous one اِتَّفَقاthe two agreed
أَخذاً بِمَخانِق الغيور اِتَّفَقا
كالعروَةِlike the loop وَالزِرِّand the button عَلىon ضيقِthe tightness of عناقan embrace
كالعروَةِ وَالزِرِّ عَلى ضيقِ عناق
They agreed to seize the jealous one by the throat,
Like the loop and the button, in a tight embrace.
