ما أَحسَنَ حالَنا عَلى التَحقيقِ
أَيّامthe days when أَمِنّاwe were safe from غُصَصَpangs التَفريقِseparation
أَيّام أَمِنّا غُصَصَ التَفريقِ
How truly lovely is our state,
How wonderful is our state in truth
In the days when we were safe from the pangs of separation!
Days when we were secure from parting
إِنindeed نَحنُwe لطيبbecause of the sweetness of عَيشِناour life فيin سَعَةٍspacious ease
إِن نَحنُ لطيب عَيشِنا في سَعَةٍ
إِذwhile نَحنُwe مِنbecause of اِعتناقناour embracing فيin ضيقِconfinement
إِذ نَحنُ مِن اِعتناقنا في ضيقِ
Indeed, through the sweetness of our life, we are in spacious ease,
We are living a good life in prosperity
While our embrace holds us tightly confined.
As we are in a tight embrace
