مَنwhoever بهرجَexposed as counterfeit زَيفَهhis falseness اِمتِحانُthe trial السَيفِof the sword
مَن بهرجَ زَيفَه اِمتِحانُ السَيفِ
أَلغاهhas nullified him وَقَولهُand his words بَيانُthe declaration السَيفِof the sword
أَلغاه وَقَولهُ بَيانُ السَيفِ
He whose falseness the sword's trial has exposed—
He whose false boasting the sword’s test disproved,
The sword's declaration has nullified him and his words.
His words the sword’s blade has nullified and removed.
إِنif يَشحُopens فَماًa mouth بِهَجرِهِwith his abusive speech ذوone possessed of سَفَهٍfoolishness
إِن يَشحُ فَماً بِهَجرِهِ ذو سَفَهٍ
فالفاصِلُthen the arbiter بَينَناbetween us لِسانُthe tongue السَيفِof the sword
فالفاصِلُ بَينَنا لِسانُ السَيفِ
If a fool opens his mouth with his abusive speech,
If a fool's mouth becomes shut from the sword's estrangement,
Then the arbiter between us is the tongue of the sword.
Then between us the tongue of the sword has resolved.
