لِم يُرجِفُ كاشِحي بِما لَم أَنَلِ

I did not attain my hope on the morning of union with her.

Why does my spiteful foe spread rumors of what I never attained?

لا امتَدَّ إِلى نَتائِج الوَصلِ يَدي

لا امتَدَّ إِلى نَتائِج الوَصلِ يَدي

إِن زدتُ عَلى مقدِّمات القُبَلِ

إِن زدتُ عَلى مقدِّمات القُبَلِ

May my hand never reach the fruits of union,

if I went beyond the preliminaries of kisses.
