لِلوردِ قَدِ اِنضَمَّ شُذورُ الذَهَبِ

ما بَينَ صحاحه كُسورُ الذَهَبِ

ما بَينَ صحاحه كُسورُ الذَهَبِ

Flecks of gold have joined the rose;

Among its whole pieces lie fragments of gold.

هَل زين خُضرَةٌ نُجومٌ صُحُفٌ

هَل زين خُضرَةٌ نُجومٌ صُحُفٌ

أَم خُضرُ صَحائفٍ عشورَ الذَهَبِ

أَم خُضرُ صَحائفٍ عشورَ الذَهَبِ

Have stars adorned the green of pages,

Or green pages adorned the golden tenth-verse markers?
