لَم أَدرِ وَقَد طالَ إِسار القَلبِ

في حُبّيَ مِن أَينَ خَسارُ القَلبِ

I did not know, and the veil of my heart grew long

In my love - from where is the heart's loss?

عَمداً كَسر الصُدغَ وَقَلبي فيهِ

أَم أَعدى صُدغَهُ اِنكِسارُ القَلبِ

Did he intentionally break the cheek, with my heart in it

Or did the cheek's fracture cause the heart's breaking?
