كَمhow often نَحوكُمtoward you اِنطلَقتُI darted كالسَهمِlike an arrow مَضىsped on
آتيI come مُتَسَرِّعاًrushing كَبَرقٍlike lightning وَمَضاflashed
How often I have darted toward you, like an arrow speeding on;
I come rushing, like lightning that flashed.
ماhow أَصوَبَfitting فيinto التُربِthe dust وقوعيmy falling قَلقاًtrembling
كالسَهمِlike an arrow هُناكthere لَوif أَصبتI struck الغَرَضاthe target
How fitting my fall into the dust, trembling, would be,
Like an arrow there, if I struck the mark.
